From Keep Ferguson Beautiful
While we work every day to improve and maintain the appearance of Ferguson, once in a while we do something big. When we do, you can read about it here.
[edit] Airport Road, August 8, 2008
Eastbound Airport Road, between Wabash and Clark, is bounded by a concrete retaining wall. There is a small unpaved area between the retaining wall and the sidewalk. Several weeks ago, weeds growing in this area were as tall as four feet. The wall was covered with vines, dead and alive. And of course, it was thick with trash.
Volunteers from Keep Ferguson Beautiful removed the large weeds. St. Louis County came through later, sprayed and trimmed to get rid of the smaller weeds. Finally, we received a truckload of mulch from our friends at Gamma Tree. A dozen volunteers raked out the remaining debris from the area, and spread a mountain of mulchgreatly improving our most heavily trafficked and ugliest stretch of road.
Next spring, we'll plant flowers along here. The only thing missing now is a trash can next to the bus stop.
